Years & Years, Jax Jones drop new single, “Play”

Get into that early noughties garage groove.

Years & Years have teamed up with producer Jax Jones for an infectious new dance track, “Play.”

Influenced by UK garage and drum ’n’ bass, “Play” is downright catchy, thanks to Jones’ knack for creating radio-friendly pop. Over a groovy synth-driven melody, Years & Years frontman Olly Alxander asks, “How long ’til you play me the song / That will make me belong to you?” before declaring “One dance with my baby tonight, and we’ll dance ’til the night is through.”

“Working with Jax was really fun and we just giggled the whole time and danced around,” Alexander said in a statement. “I liked the idea of a track that could make you fall in love. You’re so obsessed with hearing it that it’s like you’ve been hypnotized—I wanna hear the song!”
