Watch the fun-loving video for BTS’ new single, “Dynamite”

It’s the boyband’s first song sung entirely in English.

BTS have returned with a joyful video for their brand-new single, “Dynamite.”

In the throwback clip, the K-pop idols visit a record store, grab a bite to eat at a ’70s-style diner and shoot some hoops at a basketball court. At the end of the visual, they head to an old-school disco and show off their funky dance moves.

“’Cause I-I-I’m in the stars tonight / So watch me bring the fire and set the night alight / Shining through the city with a little funk and soul / So I’mma light it up like dynamite, woah,” they sing on the groovy chorus.

“Dynamite” is the boyband’s first ever song to be entirely in English, and wasn’t intended to be released as part of their album rollout, member RM told Variety. “As soon as we heard it, we thought it was really fun and exciting, a fun and cheery song that wasn’t that serious. It just made us feel good when we heard it,” he explained. “We really wanted to share this energy with the fans as soon as possible.”

“Dynamite” is expected to appear on BTS’ forthcoming album, which is set for release in the second half of 2020. Back in February, they released the LP Map of the Soul: 7, which featured songs such as “On” and “Black Swan.”
