Miley Cyrus and Mark Ronson recently made an appearance on Saturday Night Live to perform two songs: their recently released collab “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart” and a cover of John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s “Happy Xmas (War is Over).”
The duo kicked off with their performance with their country-disco original, accompanied by a full band to bring the dramatic, string-heavy production to life. To add to the theatrics, images of people protesting, natural disasters and police cars flashed behind them as Cyrus belts out the chorus: “This world can hurt you / It cuts you deep and leaves a scar / Things fall apart, but nothing breaks like a heart.”
For their second act, Cyrus and Ronson changed into sparkly festive outfits befitting of the song “Happy Xmas (War is Over).” They were joined by Sean Ono Lennon, who provided backing vocals and guitar, and showed off their stellar chemistry and musicianship.
