Watch Miley Cyrus belt a Dolly Parton classic on ‘SNL’

She also performed a song with The Kid LAROI.

Miley Cyrus performed three songs for the Mother’s Day episode of Saturday Night Live, which aired on May 8.

The musical guest for the episode, which was controversially hosted by Elon Musk, the singer opened the show’s Mother’s Day segment with a soulful rendition of her godmother Dolly Parton’s 1977 track, “Light of a Clear Blue Morning.”

“This is for all of the moms out there,” Cyrus began her performance. As she continued to sing, the SNL cast emerged with their real-life mothers, celebrating their roles in their lives. The singer finished by paying tribute to her godmother Parton, as well as her mother, Tish, who appeared beside her.

For her seventh appearance on the program, Cyrus also performed the title track from her latest album Plastic Hearts as well as her collaboration with Australian rapper The Kid LAROI, “Without You.”

Plastic Hearts, which was released last November, featured a much more rock-inspired sound for Cyrus, with appearances from Billy Idol, Stevie Nicks, Dua Lipa and Joan Jett.
