Watch Dua Lipa cover Arlo Parks’ “Eugene”

She also performed “We’re Good” and “Hallucinate” for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge.

Dua Lipa has covered Arlo Parks’ single “Eugene” during her latest BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge set.

Backed by a trio of vocalists and a lone guitarist, Lipa’s cover taps into the emotional lyricism of Parks’ original for an enthralling performance. First released in 2020, “Eugene” appeared on the tracklist of the indie singer-songwriter’s debut album Collapsed in Sunbeams, which arrived in January.

“Such a fan of this young lady and her magical voice,” Lipa gushed on Instagram of Parks. The latter expressed her own amazement at Lipa’s cover. “I’M ABSOLUTELY FLOORED! Dua, I literally felt like I was levitating listening to you covering ‘Eugene’ on the BBC Radio 1 live lounge,” Parks wrote on Twitter. “What a special moment for a quiet, intensely personal tune that was written in a living room!”

While in the Live Lounge, Lipa also performed her recent single “We’re Good,” from Future Nostalgia: The Moonlight Edition, and a piano-led reinvention of her club track “Hallucinate.” Watch all her performances below.
