Watch Dorian Electra’s video for “Sorry Bro (I Love You)”

A send-up of fragile masculinity.

Dorian Electra has released “Sorry Bro (I Love You),” a tongue-in-cheek tune that pokes fun at fragile, hyper-heterosexual masculinity.

“Sometimes you realize that you’re just in love with one of your bros,” the pop artist said in a statement. “That’s what this song is about.” The video, which Electra directed with longtime collaborator Weston Allen during quarantine, plays with macho imagery (think weights, trucks and beers) to match the single’s message.

“Sorry Bro (I Love You),” Electra’s first release since their 2019 album Flamboyant, was co-produced by Dylan Brady of experimental pop duo 100 gecs and Count Baldor. Electra recently collaborated with 100 gecs, featuring on a remix of their song “gec 2 Ü” and appearing on their virtual music festival in Minecraft.
