Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas recently marked Global James Bond Day by performing their Bond theme “No Time to Die” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Accompanied by Finneas on piano, Eilish sang their contribution to Bond 25 in a gorgeous art-deco room resplendent in lush sculptures, ornaments and art. In a video interview with Fallon, Eilish described being asked to write the new Bond theme as “a crazy, surreal experience.”
She added, “I don’t remember when it all was real, but I do remember for many years we’ve wanted to write a Bond song. Not even like we thought we could, it was more just like a fantasy. A complete fantasy—like, ‘how cool would it be if we did this.’ I think it was last summer, it started being a topic of discussion and not a fantasy, and it was very insane to us.”
Eilish and Finneas’ appearance on Fallon follows the release of the official music video for “No Time to Die”—and the news that No Time to Die will be pushed back again from its November release, which in turn was postponed from April earlier this year. Now, Bond 25 will be released on April 2, 2021 worldwide.
Yesterday, Eilish announced a virtual concert, Where Do We Go? The Livestream, which will take place on October 24. Tickets are on sale now here.
