Bebe Rexha has shared a little taste of her upcoming sophomore album with “Sacrifice.”
The dance-pop track arrived with a vampire-inspired visual directed by Christian Breslauer and includes cameos by influencers Nava Rose, Guetcha and Princess Gollum. Bebe leads the posse of blood-thirsty ladies as they forcefully break into a blood bank.
“I wanna be the air everytime you breathe / Runnin’ through your veins and the spaces in between / I wanna feel your heart every time it bleeds / Livin’ in your brain, there’s only room for me,” Bebe sings over the club-ready beat.
The track is set to appear on the singer’s upcoming sophomore album which follows 2018’s debut LP Expectations. The 14-track record included the songs “Knees,” “Don’t Get Any Closer,” “Pillow” and more. While the title and release date of the new record is yet to officially be announced, Bebe has revealed what fans can expect from it.
“My sophomore album is by far the most challenging yet fulfilling project I have ever worked on,” she said in a statement. “I wrote, recorded, re-wrote, re-recorded and then repeated that process in order to deliver an album that truly reflects who I am as a singer, songwriter and most importantly as an artist.”
She added: “I want to give listeners a journey of pop paradise fused with elements of rock and hip hop. It’s important to me that my music continues to recognize ongoing themes of vulnerability, the cycle of self-destruction & self-realization, and female empowerment.”
“Sacrifice” follows her collaboration with Doja Cat, “Baby, I’m Jealous,” which arrived last October. In 2019, Rexha released her standalone single “Last Hurrah” and collaborated with Jax Jones on “Harder.”
