Watch Anne-Marie cover Harry Styles’ “Watermelon Sugar”

For BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge segment.

Anne-Marie recently appeared on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge to perform a rendition of Harry Styles’ “Watermelon Sugar,” from his 2019 album Fine Line.

Backed by a trio of musicians––a guitarist, a percussionist and a cellist––Anne-Marie gave the summery pop song a rousing makeover, slowing down the tempo to allow her raspy vocals to take center stage. “Tastes like strawberries on a summer evenin’ / And it sounds just like a song,” she crooned.

Anne-Marie also performed a soothing solo acoustic rendition of her July collaboration with Doja Cat, “To Be Young.” The song was a follow-up to her earlier 2020 singles “Birthday” and “Her.” All three tracks are expected to appear on the pop star’s forthcoming album, Rose, which will drop sometime early next year. The record will reportedly feature a collab with her former tour partner Ed Sheeran, according to The Sun.
