The 1975 tap Phoebe Bridgers for new song

It’s titled “Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America.”

The 1975 have released a new song, “Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America” featuring Phoebe Bridgers.

The acoustic track, co-produced by vocalist Matty Healy and drummer George Daniel, finds the band getting in touch with their spiritual side. Over melancholic guitar strums and faint horns, Healy proclaims his devotion: “I’m in love with Jesus Christ / He’s so nice
I’m in love, I’ll say it twice / I’m in love (I’m in love).”

Bridgers comes on the second half to deliver a verse about a delicate crush. “I’m in love with the girl next door / Her name’s Claire / Nice when she comes ’round to call / Then masturbate the second she’s not there,” she croons.

“Jesus Christ 2005” is expected to appear on The 1975’s much-delayed fourth studio album, Notes on a Conditional Form. The record was supposed to arrive in February but has now been pushed back to May. It will include the previously released tracks “The Birthday Party” and “Me & You Together Song.”
