Taylor Swift performs “False God” live for the first time on ‘SNL’

She also played a touching piano rendition of “Lover.”

Taylor Swift recently graced the Saturday Night Live stage to perform cuts from her latest album, Lover.

Dressed in head-to-toe green and sitting under suspended sheets of paper, the pop star kicked things off with a moving piano version of “Lover.” After the performance, Swift tweeted that she played the song “exactly the way I wrote it, on piano in a quiet moment.”

Later in the show, Swift returned for the first-ever live performance of “False God.” Swift performed a jazzy rendition of the slow jam on a set filled with pulsating light bulbs, accompanied by saxophonist and SNL musical director Lenny Pickett.

Swift is the latest singer to perform on SNL, following Billie Eilish, the Jonas Brothers and K-pop superstars BTS. She previously covered Phil Collins’ “Can’t Stop Loving You” on BBC’s Live Lounge.
