Taylor Swift makes comeback with “Me!” featuring Brendon Urie

She’s traded snakes for butterflies.

After weeks of cryptic teasers on social media, pop superstar Taylor Swift has returned with an emphatic single, “Me!,” featuring Brendon Urie of Panic! at the Disco.

The energetic, Joel Little-produced track marks Swift’s return to pure glittering pop after her hard-edged Reputation album. Her sweet vocals are layered over a marching band beat, jaunty piano chords and subtle horns. “But one of these things is not like the others / Like a rainbow with all of the colors / Baby doll, when it comes to a lover / I promise that you’ll never find another like me,” she sings.

The song arrived alongside a vibrant Dave Meyers-directed MV. It opens with a snake slithering down a colorful brick road, which then bursts into a flurry of butterflies—a signal that the serpentine Reputation era has officially come to a close. From there, we’re treated to visuals inspired by The Wizard of Oz and classic ’50s musicals, with dance numbers and grand set pieces aplenty.

“Me!” is Swift’s first fresh release since 2017’s Reputation, which included singles like “Delicate” and “Gorgeous.” Watch her comeback video below:
