Taeyeon feels reborn in inspiring video for “Spark”

Her sophomore album, ‘Purpose,’ has finally arrived.

K-pop singer Taeyeon has released a red-hot video for her empowering new single, “Spark.”

In the clip, the Girls’ Generation member performs while surrounded by flames, declaring that she’s found a “spark” inside herself. “Burn it up even more so it won’t turn off / It’s so red, make it even bigger / It’s the hottest right now / Inside of me, that small spark,” Taeyeon sings on the chorus. Unlike many of her other music videos, the visual also features a heavy focus on choreography.

“Spark” is a cut from Taeyeon’s long-awaited sophomore album, Purpose, which dropped yesterday. The physical version of the record also features previously released singles “Four Seasons” and “Blue” as bonus tracks.

Purpose is the follow-up to Taeyeon’s 2017 debut solo LP, My Voice. She previously collaborated with South Korean singer-producer Chancellor on “Angel.”
