Sam Fischer and Demi Lovato have returned with a visual for their anthemic tune, “What Other People Say.”
The Dano Cerny-directed clip opens on Lovato sitting forlornly in a dimly lit train, as she stares longingly out the window. The singer moves across cabins and convenes with Fischer before the pair sing into the night on top of the moving train.
“I used to call my mom every Sunday / So she knew her love wasn’t far away / But now I’m all fucked up out in LA / ’Cause I care more about what other people say,” they belt on the chorus.
“Honestly never been so happy to be this emotionally exhausted,” tweeted Fischer on the music video release. “Thank u for opening ur arms & hearts & taking me & WOPS in as one of ur own. I won’t ever have enough words to thank u for the support & love you’ve given me but I feel it, I see it & i’m so so grateful. WHAT A DAY.”
In December, Lovato teamed up with All Time Low for the remix of the latter’s “Monsters.” Earlier this year, she performed a passionate rendition of the late Bill Withers’ “Lovely Day” on Celebrating America—an event following President Joe Biden’s inauguration—which also featured performances by Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters, and New Radicals.
Fischer, on the other hand, released his Homework EP, which featured the single “This City,” back in August 2020. It was followed by the release of his latest solo track, “For Now.”
