Aussie musician Sam Fischer and Demi Lovato denounce peer pressure with their new collaboration “What Other People Say.”
Featuring anthemic rhythms and Lovato’s trademark powerhouse vocals, “What Other People Say” sees the singer reflect on her struggle with addiction and how her social circle helped enforce her old lifestyle. When they’re not trading verses, Fischer and Lovato team up to deliver anthemic choruses with captivating vocal harmonies.
“This song is a reflection on what it’s like to lose who you truly are in an effort to please other people and society,” Lovato shared in a statement. “It’s why I wanted to make this song with Sam—ultimately it’s about two humans coming together to connect and find solutions to their problems.”
Following the song’s release, Lovato teased on Twitter\ that the pair might have more content to share this week. No further details have been shared to confirm whether the upcoming release is a music video for “What Other People Say” or a brand-new collab.
“What Other People Say” follows Lovato’s collaboration with All Time Low on a rework of their song “Monsters.” She also slammed former US President Donald Trump in the song “Commander in Chief,” which was released just ahead of the 2020 presidential election. Fischer, on the other hand, dropped the EP Homework and the standalone song “For Now” last year.
