In anticipation of Rita Ora’s sophomore album, Phoenix, out tomorrow, the English pop star has released two new singles, titled “Cashmere” and “Falling to Pieces.”
The former, written by Ali Tamposi, watt, Julian Bunetta and John Ryan, is a sultry R&B jam that finds our leading lady heading home with a brand-new boo. She shares details of their flirty rendezvous and her feelings the morning after: “Cashmere (cashmere), last night we made such a mess / I knew when I left I’d see you again.”
“Falling to Pieces” continues the romantic narrative, although this time, things don’t look as great. “You’re such a fool but so am I / I may be twisted, you’re unkind / I wanna know what’s on your mind / You do the same thing every night,” she sings over an upbeat melody featuring trumpets and drums. The song was co-produced by Digital Farm Animals, whose works include hits performed by Dua Lipa and Noah Cyrus.
