Rex Orange County releases laid-back song, “Pluto Projector”

His major label debut, ‘Pony,’ arrives this Friday.

English singer-songwriter Rex Orange County—real name Alexander O’Connor—has dropped “Pluto Projector,” the latest taste of his forthcoming album Pony.

The 21-year-old artist gets existential on the intimate track, where he ponders the little things in life and what they all add up to. “What if all this counts for nothing / Everything I thought I’d be? / What if by the time I realize / It’s too far behind to see?” he sings over acoustic guitar and romantic strings.

“Pluto Projector” will feature on O’Connor’s upcoming album, Pony, alongside previously released track “10/10.” The record, which is the singer’s first for a major label, arrives this Friday via Sony Music Entertainment.
