Portland duo Pure Bathing Culture have unveiled the music video for their latest single, “All Night,” from their forthcoming full-length, Night Pass.
“‘All Night’ is simply about two people who refuse to give up on each other,” the band said in a statement to Gorilla vs Bear, which premiered the video. “The darker it gets the harder they run.” The song will hook anyone who loves the glitzy stylings of ’80s pop. Singer Sarah Versprille emulates pop heavyweights Bonnie Tyler and Cyndi Lauper effortlessly, but that’s not to call her an imitation: The strength and conviction in her voice carry through each note, helping brand her own vocal sound.
In the “All Night” video, Versprille and bandmate Daniel Hindman take turns in the limelight, dancing and singing in front headlights on a foggy night, sitting in a cab during a late-night drive and performing under a projected sea. It’s a stunning video that captures a bygone aesthetic.
Night Pass, Pure Bathing Culture’s third studio album, arrives April 26. Watch the video for “All Night” here:
