Park Bom makes triumphant comeback with “Spring”

The song features fellow ex-2NE1 bandmate, Sandara Park.

It’s been eight long years since Park Bom last released solo material, but the former 2NE1 vocalist is finally back with “Spring,” featuring her ex-bandmate Sandara Park.

The hopeful ballad incorporates the singer’s strong vocals over dramatic piano chords, atmospheric synths and a gospel-inspired backing choir. “Will spring come for me again? / Will beautiful flowers bloom in my heart again? / When this cold wind passes, when my heart melts down / Spring again, will spring come to my heart again?” she sings.

In the accompanying video, Bom performs simple choreography in an abandoned factory, intercut by vibrant shots of her lying in a rose-filled garden. Sandara makes an appearance during the middle of the clip in a gorgeous red outfit.

“[Sandara is] loyal. When I gave her a call and said that I would really like for her to [feature on the song], she did,” Bom said at a recent showcase for the single’s release, according to Soompi. “Today, another text came [from her], and it said, ‘Don’t be nervous and let ’em have it,’ telling me to work hard.”

“Spring” was released alongside B-sides “My Lover” and “Embarrassed.”
