Normani channels Beyoncé in new “Motivation” video

    Normani has returned with a music video for her newest single, “Motivation.”

    The track, co-penned by Normani alongside her tourmate Ariana Grande, is a certified bop from the very first listen. It features a catchy hook, celebratory horns and a pumping bass in the vein of Beyoncé’s “Crazy in Love.” “I’mma break you off, let me be your motivation / To stay and give it tonight / And baby turn around, let me give you innovation,” she sings.

    The song was released through a music video that finds the former Fifth Harmony member showing off her sultry dance moves for the camera⁠—a fun choreography-filled visual Bey would definitely approve of. But the highlight comes towards the near end, when the clip segues into a sequence where Normani does a handstand and smoothly drops to an eye-popping leg split in the pouring rain. 

    “Motivation” is the singer’s debut solo effort. She had previously released collaborations with Sam Smith on “Dancing with a Stranger,” 6LACK on “Waves” and Khalid on “Love Lies.” Check out Normani’s new music video below:
