Nick Murphy drops a “Dangerous” new single

A tasty slice of introspection and self-criticism.

Nick Murphy—formerly known as Chet Faker—has dropped “Dangerous,” the latest track from his upcoming sophomore album, Run Fast Sleep Naked.

The song layers the Australian singer’s vocals over a brooding atmosphere of reverb, horns and drum beats as he considers his own morality: “Now what do I do? / Maybe I’m dangerous / According to you / It could have been love with eyes.” The track fringes on R&B and soul at times, precariously balancing sonic maturity with some pop sensibility.

Run Fast Sleep Naked is due out April 26. It’s Murphy’s first album under his real name, following his move to ditch his Chet Faker moniker.
