Miley Cyrus advocates for vaccination in “Angels Like You” MV

Miley Cyrus has returned to share a video of the Plastic Hearts cut, “Angels Like You.”

Directed by Alana O’Herlihy and Cyrus herself, the clip captures the singer clad in a glittering black and pink #25 jersey. It also documents her performance at the TikTok Tailgate Super Bowl concert held in Tampa Bay, Florida back in February 7.

“We all look forward to being together again and this can happen sooner than we may have thought with vaccines becoming more available,” read Cyrus’ hand-written note that capped the clip. “Each of us can help stop the pandemic by being vaccinated. Together we can make the experience of live music a reality again.”

The TikTok Tailgate gig was put on for an audience of vaccinated and masked healthcare workers. With a crowd of around 7,500 people, it was one of the biggest COVID-19 compliant live music shows in the United States since the start of the pandemic nearly a year ago. The roughly 90-minute set was streamed live on TikTok—with segments of it airing later on CBS—and featured appearances by Billy Idol and Joan Jett, who were guests on Plastic Hearts.

Apart from “Angels Like You,” the 14-track Plastic Hearts also included the songs “Prisoner” featuring Dua Lipa, “Midnight Sky”—which Cyrus later reworked with Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks—and its title track. Earlier this year, she performed songs off the album as well as a cover of Mazzy Star’s “Fade into You” on the home edition of NPR’s Tiny Desk concert series.
