“I Took a Pill in Ibiza” hitmaker Mike Posner’s back with a melancholic pop track, “Song About You.”

It’s a break-up anthem that draws inspiration from hip hop, R&B, alternative rock and pop to create an infectious mid-tempo jam that’ll ring in your head for days.

Produced by Ricky Reed, the song kicks off with Posner declaring that he doesn’t want to write any more tunes about his ex-lover, though it seems the singer still has some lingering feelings. “And the worst kind of sadness you could have / Is when you miss something that doesn’t miss you back,” he admits.

It’s not all doom and gloom, though. According to a recent interview with Zane Lowe, Posner said that he had a lot of fun writing the song as it helped him move past his broken relationship. “Me and my girl fell apart, and I just felt a lot of angst, a lot of anger,” he confessed. “I’m grateful I got a good spot to put that anger. I think any time you can let that out in a good way, it’s cathartic. I am a better human after making this song and this album than I was before.”
