Mika has unveiled “Ice Cream” a fresh single from his forthcoming album, My Name is Michael Holbrook.

Released just in time for summer, the catchy tune layers the English singer’s sweet vocals over a sea of groovy synths and infectious bass. “I want your ice cream, I want it lying in the sun / I want your ice cream, I want it melting on my tongue / I want your ice cream, I want it, whatcha waiting for? / Ice cream, every bite, all I want is more,” he sings.

“‘Ice Cream’ was written on a day of extreme heat,” Mike explained in a press release. “It was the last few weeks of writing for the album; a writing period that lasted two years. Through the writing I had confronted personal, serious and at times painful issues, now I felt lighter and freer.”

“Ice Cream” is the lead single from My Name is Michael Holbrook, due out October 4. The record is Mika’s first full body of work since 2015’s No Place in Heaven.
