Mark Ronson and King Princess—aka Mikaela Straus—have teamed up on “Pieces of Us,” the next single from Ronson’s forthcoming album, Late Night Feelings.
Blending dreamy, twinkling synths and an ’80s pop-inspired beat, the track is a melancholic contemplation on ex-lovers and heartbreak. “All of my love / Swing and I miss every time that we talk / And now all I got is pieces of us,” Straus croons. Interestingly, the singer’s ex-girlfriend Amandla Stenberg also contributed backup vocals to the bridge.
“Pieces of Us” is the latest in a string of singles previewing Late Night Feelings, which comprises collaborations only with female singers. These include the Camila Cabello-assisted “Find U Again,” “Don’t Leave Me Lonely” featuring YEBBA, “Late Night Feelings” with Lykke Li and the country-influenced “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart” featuring Miley Cyrus.
Late Night Feelings is due out this Friday. Check out “Pieces of Us” below:
