Lovelyz’s Ryu Su-jeong makes solo debut with “Tiger Eyes”

It’s the title track of her new EP.

Ryu Su-jeong of K-pop girl group Lovelyz has made her solo debut with “Tiger Eyes.”

The fierce EDM-influenced pop song is a change of pace for the singer, whose K-pop group toys with gentler and more cutesy concepts. “I wanted to show that it was possible for my voice to sing this kind of genre,” she told News1, as translated by Soompi. “I’ve been doing lovely and sentimental music for six years as Lovelyz, but this time it’s a little more alluring.

The accompanying video features Ryu in various animal print outfits as she performs on neon-lit sets. “Fate is not something you can get away from / Ah ah ah ah, deep in the night, tiger eyes / The moment I fell for you / Ah ah ah ah, I love you, baby,” she sings seductively.

“Tiger Eyes” is the title track of the singer’s first solo EP. Other songs on the project include the R&B-tinged “Call Back,” the tender ballad “Your Name” and the romantic song, “Na, Ni.” It also features the self-composed song, “ZZ.”
