The 1975 have returned with “Me & You Together Song,” yet another taste of their forthcoming album, Notes on a Conditional Form.
On the cheery pop song, frontman Matty Healy imagines a relationship with a friend who he’s been in love with his “whole life.” It chronicles the first time they met, awkward conversations and the fantasy of a future where they have children. “I had a dream where we had kids / You would cook, I’d do the nappies / We went to Winter Wonderland / And it was shit but we were happy,” he sings.
The song is the latest release from their fourth studio album, Notes on a Conditional Form, following “People” and “Frail State of Mind.” The record, which was originally scheduled for release on February 21, will arrive April 24 via Dirty Hit/Polydor.
Alongside the release of “Me & You Together Song,” The 1975 also announced a massive North American tour in support of Notes on a Conditional Form. The 25-date tour, supported by Phoebe Bridgers and Beabadoobee, kicks off in Houston, Texas on April 27.
