Lee Daehwi celebrates his birthday with “Candle”

In collaboration with Park Wooji, also a former member of Wanna One.

Lee Daehwi and Park Wooji have dropped a duet, “Candle,” which doubles as a special message of gratitude to their fans.

The former Wanna One members released the track as an ode to fans for the love and support they received as part of the temporary boyband. Featuring Lee’s soft, layered vocals and touching self-written rap verses from Park, the heartwarming song is the perfect remedy for a cold winter. The mid-tempo R&B bop was also partially a birthday gift from Lee, who celebrated his 18th birthday on Tuesday, the day of the song’s release.

“We are well aware of the fact that without our fans, we wouldn’t be here,” the pair said in a statement. “Though there isn’t anything we could do that could properly repay our fans for their love, we wanted to at least show them that the love they send us is not one-sided, and that we’re also thinking of and loving our fans.”

Both Lee and Park are set to join the boyband, Brand New Boys, alongside Produce 101 contestants Im Youngmin and Kim Donghyun. Their label, Brand New Music, has yet to announce a date for their debut.
