Lana Del Rey drops new album, ‘Chemtrails Over the Country Club’

She’s already announced her next record, ‘Rock Candy Sweet.’

Last Friday, Lana Del Rey released her new album, Chemtrails Over the Country Club—and mere days later, announced its follow-up, Rock Candy Sweet.

Del Rey’s seventh studio album, Chemtrails Over the Country Club was preceded by the singles “Let Me Love You Like a Woman” and its title track.

Chemtrails comes less than two years since Del Rey’s last record, the acclaimed Norman Fucking Rockwell!. And it seems like the pop star’s next album will be coming even sooner: Over an Instagram Story posted on the weekend, she announced her next album would be called Rock Candy Sweet and be released June 1.

Del Rey made the surprise announcement in a response to a Harper’s Bazaar article published in January, titled “Lana Del Rey can’t qualify her way out of being held accountable.”

Over a screenshot of the article, she wrote in red text: “Just want to thank you again for the kind articles like this one and for reminding me that my career was built on cultural appropriation and glamorizing domestic abuse. I will continue to challenge those thoughts on my next record on June 1 titled Rock Candy Sweet.”

Shortly after posting to her Instagram Stories, Del Rey shared a selfie and reiterated the release of Rock Candy Sweet on June 1. See that post and her Instagram Story below:
