Lana Del Rey has released “Let Me Love You Like a Woman,” the first taste of her next album Chemtrails Over the Country Club.
For the simple piano number, Del Rey reunited with songwriter and producer Jack Antonoff, who worked with her on her last record, 2019’s critically acclaimed Norman Fucking Rockwell!. On the dreamy track, she tries to coax a lover into eloping with her, away from Los Angeles. “I don’t care where as long as you’re with me,” she declares, “And I’m with you and you let me.”
Del Rey has yet to confirm an exact release date for Chemtrails Over the Country Club, which was initially slated to drop in September. The record might be released in January, Del Rey said in a recent signing for her poetry book Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass, and may feature the hotly anticipated track “Dealer.”
“Bro, I cannot decide,” she said at the signing, according to NME. “It’s a screamer… right now it’s tentatively track eight.”
Chemtrails Over the Country Club is the highly anticipated follow-up to Norman Fucking Rockwell!, which featured the tracks “Mariners Apartment Complex,” “Hope is a Dangerous Thing for a Woman Like Me to Have—But I Have it,” Sublime cover “Doin’ Time” and more.
“Let Me Love You Like a Woman” received a “homemade” visual treatment capturing life on and off the road with Del Rey. Watch it below:
