Kim Petras is an “Icy” queen in her new video

A cut from her debut album, ‘Clarity.’

Kim Petras has unveiled a dramatic video for “Icy,” a cut from her debut album, Clarity.

The frosty clip features the pop singer performing in a giant glass box while bathed in blue light. Later in the visual, she emerges from a pool of glittery silver paint, belting the song’s feisty chorus: “Kinda funny how the money can replace the love / So numb, I don’t feel it inside me / So dumb, I believed you really liked me / ’Cause of you, now my heart is so icy.”

“I wanted the visual to feel fresh and signify becoming a stronger version of myself,” Petras said in a statement. “The video starts with me feeling trapped and watched in a glass box, but as it progresses, I escape and evolve into a bionic version of myself through the pain of heartbreak.”

Petras released Clarity earlier this year, and quickly followed it up with her Halloween-themed Turn Off the Light project. She also recently appeared on the Charlie’s Angels track, “How It’s Done,” alongside Kash Doll, Stefflon Don and ALMA.
