Key bows out for now with ‘I Wanna Be’

The SHINee member has joined the South Korean military for two years.

SHINee’s Key enlisted in the South Korean military for his mandatory two years of service on March 4. But before he left, the K-pop idol released I Wanna Be as a parting gift for fans.

The 13-track album is a repackaging of the singer’s debut full-length, Face. The LP includes all ten original songs, alongside three new ones: the title track, which features (G)I-DLE’s Soyeon, “Show Me” and the SM STATION single “Cold.” A video for “I Wanna Be” also accompanied the project’s release.

In the clip for the dance pop tune, Key explores a neon-colored world, wandering down hallways and around geometric rooms. “Inside your heart is where I wanna be / Think of me when you’re feeling alone / Even before this song ends / Always inside your heart is where I wanna be,” he harmonizes with Soyeon on the chorus.
