Jinu of Winner makes his solo debut with “Call Anytime”

Featuring his bandmate Mino.

“Call Anytime,” the debut solo single from Jinu of South Korean boyband Winner, is out now.

Featuring groovy guitars and finger snaps, the song pairs a light-hearted melody with melancholic lyrics about unrequited love. “It’s 3am in the morning / You don’t respond to my messages / We’re not really dating / But I just thought of you,” Jinu croons on the opening. The track is co-written by fellow bandmate Mino, who also lends his vocals to the infectious pop production.

“Going solo is still somewhat awkward for me,” Jinureal name Kim Jinwootold Yonhap News Agency. “[A solo interview] like this one today is a little overwhelming for me.” However, the singer added that his first-ever solo record showcases “a major explosion of [his] confidence.”

The song was released alongside a vibrant music video, which enters the mind of a restless, lovelorn Jinu. In the clip, the singer spends his time waiting next to a telephone all night, yearning for his crush to call him back. Check out the video for “Call Anytime” below:
