Hwasa unveils her debut solo EP, ‘María’

The project is titled after the singer’s baptismal name.

Mamamoo’s Hwasa has finally released her debut solo EP, María, titled after her baptismal name.

The seven-track project features an appearance from South Korean rapper DPR Live on “I’m Too Bad,” as well as production by Block B’s Zico on “Kidding.” The EP also includes the previously released songs “Twit” and “Intro: Nobody Else.”

In the creepy video for the title track, Hwasa roams through a hospital in a bloodied gown while she holds on to a human brain. “Don’t torture yourself / Oh María, I’m saying this for you / Why are you trying so hard / You’re already beautiful,” Hwasa sings on the chorus. The visual also features cameos from her Mamamoo groupmates.
