Hwasa previews debut EP with “Intro: Nobody Else”

‘María’ arrives later this month.

Mamamoo’s Hwasa has released a touching video for her new song, “Intro: Nobody Else.”

The clip contrasts archival footage of Hwasa in concert with melancholic scenes of her singing about self-love alone in a grass field. “Oh María / Why don’t you love yourself / There’s a thorn on your back / No one here, nobody here,” she croons.

“Intro: Nobody Else” is the first taste of Hwasa’s forthcoming debut EP, María, which is also the singer’s baptismal name. The record is due out June 29.

The project is the follow-up to her 2019 debut solo single, “Twit.” Meanwhile, her fellow Mamamoo groupmates have also recently released solo material: Moonbyul dropped “Absence” earlier this month, and Solar released “Spit it Out” in April.
