Hayley Williams drops flowery new track featuring boygenius

    “Roses/Lotus/Violet/Iris” is out now.

    Paramore’s Hayley Williams has released the new solo track “Roses/Lotus/Violet/Iris,” which features backing vocals from boygenius—the trio of Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus.

    Williams first revealed her collaboration with the indie rock supergroup to the New York Times earlier this month, which described the track with boygenius as one “about ‘wilted women’ moving toward the light.” Sonically, “Roses/Lotus/Violet/Iris” continues the electronic-leaning, Radiohead-indebted sound of Williams’ previously released solo songs, most notably “Simmer.”

    “Roses/Lotus/Violet/Iris” will appear on Petals for Armor, Williams’ first-ever solo album. The first part of the record, which includes “Simmer” and other single “Leave it Alone,” was released last month.
