Harry Styles—quite literally—drowns himself in sorrow in the video for his latest Fine Line single, “Falling.”
Directed by Dave Meyers, the gorgeous, golden-hued visual opens with the singer slumped over a grand piano with a drink in his hand. Dressed in a ruffled lilac blouse, he laments at the top, “I’m in my bed / And you’re not here / And there’s no one to blame but the drink and my wandering hands.” As the emotional ballad swells dramatically, water starts pouring out of the piano, flooding the room and drowning Styles in the process. Towards the end, he lets go of the instrument and floats away.
“Falling” is the latest cut off his sophomore album, Fine Line, to receive the visual treatment, following “Adore You” and “Lights Up.” Elsewhere, Styles recently offered a faithful take on Joni Mitchell’s “Big Yellow Taxi” during his appearance on BBC Radio 2’s The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show.
