Halsey has surprise-released the demo of “Wipe Your Tears,” a bonus track that was featured on the Japanese edition of her third studio album, Manic.
“prolly gon get in trouble for this but, happy pride ! here’s the full OG version of wipe your tears. my favorite wlw song of mine that ended up on a special release of Manic if it gets taken down it ain’t my fault,” Halsey shared on Twitter on June 15.
When one commented how the version shared sounded “so superior” to the cut on Manic’s Japanese edition, the singer teasingly replied: “There’s actually 3 versions of this song in existence hahaha. You guys have 2 of them now.”
Another excited fan then tried coaxing Halsey into sharing the third unheard version, to which the pop star replied, “Omg pls I jussssst leaked the 2nd lemme breathe.” She added, “I can’t I’ll get in too much trouble cause it has a feature hahah.”
Concluding her string of tweets, Halsey quipped, “Y’all gonna get me in trouble now shush. If I ever leaked a demo version of a song, I don’t leak it bc I did. No I didn’t.”
Halsey released Manic earlier this year. The album included the hit singles “You Should Be Sad,” “Without Me” and “Graveyard.” More recently, she collaborated with Marshmello on the song “Be Kind,” and country singer Kelsea Ballerini on the single “The Other Girl.”
