Dua Lipa is set to drop her sophomore album Future Nostalgia soon, and the singer’s keeping the momentum going with a brand-new release, “Physical.”
In an interview with Billboard at the 2020 Grammys, Lipa said that “Physical” was inspired by the music from popular ’80s dance movies. “It’s quite Flashdance-y, it’s fun, you can dance to it,” she said. “It’s definitely my craziest of high energy songs.”
Produced by Lipa’s frequent collaborator KOZ and hitmaker Jason Evigan, “Physical” is a post-disco pop anthem powered by a euphoric dancefloor beat. “All night I’ll riot with you / I know you got my back and you know I got you / So come on (Come on), come on (Come on), come on (Come on) / Let’s get physical,” Lipa declares on the chorus.
Future Nostalgia is due out April 3, and will feature previously released singles “Don’t Start Now” and the title track. While you wait for the album to drop, check out the “Physical” music video below:
