Empress Of announces new album with “Give Me Another Chance”

Hear the solo artist’s first single in almost two years.

Empress Of—aka Lorely Rodriguez—has announced her third album I’m Your Empress Of, with the club-leaning lead single, “Give Me Another Chance.”

In the accompanying video, directed by Alexis Gómez, Rodriguez performs the hypnotic song in the hallways of a school, which are lit by pulsating neon lights. “I can be loving, I can forgive / I don’t wanna lose you, I know I’ll still live / Somebody told me you’ve got another / I’m asking you baby, choose me over her,” she sings.

I’m Your Empress Of is the follow-up to 2018’s Us, and was mostly written and produced by Rodriguez herself. The record also includes songs penned by Jim E-Stack and Mikey Freedom Hart, “U Give it Up” and “Hold Me Like Water,” respectively.

“This record wasn’t written in a remote location,” Rodriguez shared in a statement. “It was written in my small studio in Highland Park, Los Angeles over two months in between touring the world. […] It’s called I’m Your Empress Of because I’ve always felt that once a song is done, and the emotion is there and it’s not inside me anymore, it belongs to the world.”

I’m Your Empress Of arrives April 3 via Terrible Records. Watch the video for“Give Me Another Chance” below:
