E^ST releases reflective new song, “I Wanna Be Here”

The final preview of her upcoming debut album, ‘I’m Doing it.’

E^ST—aka Australian artist Melissa Bester—has released a new single, “I Wanna Be Here.”

The anthemic track, which the singer co-wrote with Jim Eliot, wrestles with the weighty topics of existence and purpose in life.

“I don’t really feel that much right now / I wish I could change that up somehow / I wanna feel like I’m flying / I’ll just keep on trying everything now / Until I don’t wanna die,” E^ST confesses on the chorus.

“I wrote this song at a really difficult time in my life, and it’s almost like I wrote the song that I needed to hear,” said E^ST in a press statement. “This song is about realizing that just because life feels impossible, that doesn’t mean that it is impossible… And that as long as you’re trying something, there’s always hope.”

“I Wanna Be Here” serves as the final advance offering from E^ST’s upcoming debut album I’m Doing it, which is due out July 31. She has released three other album cuts: “Maybe it’s Me,” “Flight Path,” and “Fresh Out of Love.”
