Dua Lipa drops sophomore record, ‘Future Nostalgia’

She’s also released an eye-catching video for “Break My Heart.”

Pop singer Dua Lipa has returned with a brand-new LP, Future Nostalgia.

The album, Lipa’s second, was originally slated to drop on April 3. Its release was pushed forward in light of the coronavirus pandemic, and also due to the leak of several tracks from the record, as per BBC.

On an Instagram live, a visibly emotional Lipa shared that she has been “conflicted about putting music out, whether it is the right thing to do because people are suffering.”

But the singer and her team decided to go ahead with the release. “I hope [the album] brings you some happiness, and I hope it makes you smile, and I hope it makes you dance. I hope I make you proud,” Lipa said.

In an interview with the BBC last year, the 24-year-old compared the “nostalgic” album to a “dancercise class.” “I’m very much more in touch with who I am. Now I have a very clear idea of what I’m doing and what I want to say. Things I’m not afraid of,” the English singer said of her newfound confidence on the record.

Future Nostalgia includes the previously released songs “Don’t Start Now,” “Physical” and the title track. Its latest single, “Break My Heart,” also received a vibrant visual treatment.
