Christina Aguilera drops new song for live-action ‘Mulan’ remake

Listen to “Loyal Brave True” here.

Christina Aguilera has returned to Disney with “Loyal Brave True,” for the soundtrack of the live-action movie remake of Mulan. The pop star first made her major label debut with “Reflection” for the 1998 animated version of Mulan.

The emotional ballad draws from the story and themes of Mulan. “Should I ask myself in the water / What a warrior would do? / Tell me underneath my armor / Am I loyal, brave and true?” Aguilera belts on the chorus.

“It’s amazing to come back to such an incredible movie that’s full of power and meaning, and that meaning holds the test of time: staying true to yourself, being who you are, and teaching how to be fearless,” Aguilera said in a press statement. “My new song, ‘Loyal Brave True,’ represents the fine balance between vulnerability and strength.”
