Charlie Puth drops new single, “Done for Me”

The collab between Charlie Puth and R&B star Kehlani is a sensual tune that features liquid basslines, smooth synths and a relationship gone sour.

Even though the official release of his forthcoming album has been delayed, pop star Charlie Puth has things under control. The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter yesterday unveiled the third single off Voicenotes, “Done for Me.”

The American singer-songwriter teams up with R&B star Kehlani in a track that’s less a duet and more two lovers sparring. “You think you’d be better with somebody new? / If you want to leave, there ain’t nobody stopping you,” goes Puth over electronic basslines and warm synths. Cue Kehlani’s response: “I never cheated / Deleted everyone because they made you uncomfortable.”

Last year, the musician dropped “Attention” and “How Long,” two tracks off Voicenotes that were pretty well received. And it looks like “Done for Me” may give Puth his hat-trick.
