Charli XCX, Troye Sivan stunt on jet skis in “2099” video

Crazy flips abound.

Following their nostalgia-heavy “1999” visual last year, Charli XCX and Troye Sivan are back with the video for the future-facing “2099.”

In the Bradley&Pablo-directed clip, the duo ride jet skis on a lake in the distant future the song envisions. At the halfway point, Charli poses atop her watercraft as Sivan (or his stunt double) performs a run of insane jet ski stunts: think barrel rolls and 180-degree backflips.

The camera captures Charli and Sivan in slow motion as they sing: “I pull up, roll up, fuck up / Fast like a Nascar, never touch us / Got visions, levels, they don’t get me / Quiet, no discussions, please hush.”

“2099” is the closing track of Charli’s latest album Charli, which dropped last Friday. She had previously released videos for album cuts “Gone” (featuring Christine and the Queens), and the Lizzo-assisted “Blame it on Your Love.”
