Charli XCX, The 1975, No Rome drop “Spinning” collab

After months of teasing fans.

After much teasing on social media, Charli XCX, The 1975 and No Rome have shared their collaborative track “Spinning.”

The effervescent electronic-pop track opens with Charli’s lyrics: “Found you at four in the morning / Confidence soaring / Thought you moved onto a new thing / But you keep it revolving / I look so good dressed in nothing / You ended up falling / I never needed your shelter / I’m good with no warning.”

“I think Rome and The 1975 guys are so talented, it’s honestly so cool to have this song with them, I feel like we all speak the same musical language in someway, and that language is stunning/exquisite/tasteful and chic,” said Charli in a tweet that was later reposted by No Rome.

No Rome (real name Guendoline Rome Viray Gomez) had previously collaborated with his Dirty Hit labelmates The 1975 on 2018’s RIP Indo Hisashi cut “Narcissist.” It was followed by his sophomore EP Crying in the Prettiest Places, which featured the tracks “Pink” and “Cashmoney.”

The 1975, on the other hand, released their last studio album Notes on a Conditional Form last May. Its 22 tracks included “People,” “Me & You Together Song,” “Don’t Worry,” and collaborations with FKA twigs as well as Phoebe Bridgers.

That same month, Charli XCX also released her fourth full-length album How I’m Feeling Now that featured the songs “I Finally Understand,” “Claws” and “Forever.”
