Charli XCX, Rico Nasty remix 100 gecs’ “Ringtone”

Kero Kero Bonito join the party, too.

Experimental electronic pop duo 100 gecs have released a star-studded remix of their song “Ringtone,” featuring Charli XCX, Rico Nasty and Kero Kero Bonito.

Charli kicks the remix open with a new verse, before proceeding to sing the sticky hook: “My boy’s got his own ringtone / It’s the only one I know, it’s the only one I know.” Sarah Midori Perry of KKB joins the party before Rico—her voice rendered nearly unrecognizable by the generous AutoTune—sweeps in to deliver lovestruck declarations of her own.

“Ringtone” is a standout track from 100 gecs’ 2019 debut album, 1000 gecs. This new remix is one of several on the duo’s upcoming album, 1000 gecs & The Tree of Clues, which also features collaborations with PC Music’s AG Cook and the rap trio Injury Reserve.

This is Charli’s latest collab, following “We Are Born to Play” with Galantis and “Bricks” with Tommy Genesis. Rico Nasty, on her part, recently featured on tracks by Boys Noize (“Girl Crush”) and Jucee Froot (“Psycho”).
