Charli XCX has been busy recently with several guest spots on tracks, from Rita Ora’s “Girls,” to Tove Lo’s “B*tches,” to Lil Xan’s “Moonlight.” But today, she’s turned her attention back to her solo efforts, releasing the visual for her latest track, “5 in the Morning.”
The song, which was released earlier in May, is a down-and-dirty trap-pop anthem that showcases all of Charli’s effortless cool as she moves her effervescent sound towards a grittier new direction. And the visual suits that sound to the ground.
It opens with Charli rocking a stylish look in a giant, empty warehouse, filled with nothing but smoke and neon lights. She catwalks, struts and dances around the space as the bass-heavy track plays over the clip. It’s a super cool and sleek video—nothing less than you’d expect from the “Boys” singer.
