Caroline Pochalek covers The Corrs’ “Breathless” on ‘Corden’

The cover appears as a bonus track on her forthcoming vinyl release.

Caroline Pochalek recently appeared on The Late Late Show With James Corden to perform a cover of The Corrs’ “Breathless.”

Donning a black dress spun with a Mad Max twist, Pochalek turned the stage into gothic-themed wasteland. The former Chairlift vocalist commanded the stage, hardly moving a step while effortlessly navigating through the song’s challenging chorus. “So go on, go on / Come on, leave me breathless / Tempt me, tease me / ’Til I can’t deny this,” she sang.

The studio version of her “Breathless” rendition was released back in December and is set to appear as a bonus track on her forthcoming vinyl release Standing at the Gate: Remix Collection. It follows the release of 2019’s Pang—which later received an instrumental version—that featured “Hit Me Where it Hurts,” “So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings” and “Door.”

More recently, she linked up with French singer-songwriter Christine and the Queens for the La vita nuova Remixes EP. It featured three takes on “La vita nuova,” the Polachek-assisted track from Chris’ 2020 EP of the same name.
Standing at the Gate: Remix Collection is due to arrive April 16. While you wait, watch Polachek’s cover of “Breathless” on Corden below:
