BTS make history with ‘SNL’ debut

The international sensations performed “Boy With Luv” and “Mic Drop.”

This past weekend, K-pop juggernauts BTS made history by being the first South Korean musical guests on Saturday Night Live in the show’s 44 years on the air.

Introduced by Emma Stone, the septet broke into a groovy rendition of their latest single, “Boy With Luv,” with co-writer Melanie Fontana filling in for Halsey on harmonies. If the boys were nervous, they sure didn’t show it during the performance, pulling off their high-energy choreography without compromising their vocals. BTS returned later in the night with a second song, performing their Billboard platinum-certified single, “Mic Drop.”

The group also recently broke records with their “Boy With Luv” MV, which became the fastest video in YouTube history to hit 100 million views. The clip hit the milestone in one day and 13 hours, according to Soompi, beating out the previous record holder, BLACKPINK’s “Kill This Love,” by 25 hours.
